Seasons Change Before Our Eyes

Right before our eyes we went from summer to fall yesterday. These beautiful clouds (mare's tails) were drifting out of the southwest all day.






Then towards dusk the wind changed and right out of the north came this bank of cold looking clouds. With it came flocks of geese... no less than five big flocks and of course I only had my camera in hand for this little group pictured here. The big boys watched as they all landed in the old wild rice paddies behind our property, lamenting the fact that they had no steel shot and today was a special goose hunt where kids did not need a license to bang away at geese. Having tasted a Canada goose before and being less than impressed, I did not feel too bad for them.
