| Lots of love and happy faces at the airport when he arrived! |
What a great two weeks we had. Josh came home on Sept 2nd and we tried to keep activities to a minimum and then again have lots of fun family stuff while he was here. The weather was great the whole time. I find I did not take nearly enough pictures, though. Here are just a few from a wonderful R and R. Oh how we miss our soldier...
| Jackie made the soldier an 88 Mike cake :) |
| Doing a little target shooting |
| the aftermath |
| Throwing Jaime in the pool |
| A little horseback riding... |
| A Pig Roast with family and friends |
| eeewwww... |
| Many games of cards, some on the sunny deck |
| A nap or two :) |
| His brand new car (chevy camero with t-tops) |
| We had a fire almost every day and night :) |
| Tinder dry conditions kept us from having more than just a few fireworks... |
Opening grouse season and the soldier gets one day of hunting
before he has to leave |
| One of the best opening partridge hunts ever! |
| We tried to make as many of Josh's favorite foods as possible! |
| Time for a haircut before the army sees how long it got ;) |
Goodbye at the airport. Only the big girls got to go as
the Old Guy had church,
Reubs had to do the AV for it,
Pete was working midnights
and
Tom stayed home with Jaime (who was sick)
and the rest of the littles who tend to sabotage family outings ;) |
VERY hard to say goodbye... We sure miss you Josh...

Beautiful family. Thanks for raising a fine son who serves our country. And thanks to him for going. Our mother's hearts are so tender towards our boys in harm's way. Prayers for you all. Nancy
Lovely pics! I'm so proud of Josh. You raised a good man:)
I was not even there for any of the festivities, yet I feel as though I enjoyed a fire, had a great meal, played cards, and had hugs all around.
