Zups Grocery Store, Babbitt, MN Burns to the Ground

 This will likely not mean much to those who do not live in our area, but since Zups Grocery has been a part of this community pretty much as long as most people can remember, I have to post a few pictures.  Not quite sure about the details, but sometime after midnight the fire was noticed, called in, and soon after heavy equipment was used to cut the store off from the rest of the businesses (it is a sort of strip mall) to contain the fire.  The drug store was a total loss and it sure looked like the other businesses in the center will sustain enough smoke and water damage to make reopening unlikely.  wow.   There will be a meeting of local clergy and community people (Lions, etc) to make a plan to get meals etc for the older and/or disabled people, since this was the only grocery store in town and a lot of people are not able to get to the big town for food.
