I got TWO WHOLE WEEKS at the beach this year, on a secluded island I hate to name as we were nearly the only ones on the beach for the entire time. It was more than wonderful and made me realize I really do have a recessive snowbird gene. I would really love to live down there for 2.5 months of the winter.
Week one was with my dear, dear friend from college days... it is our 30th year of being friends and let me tell you, there is nothing better than a friend in Christ to share your beach time with:

I am so glad you got away for such a nice vacation. You are one hard working mama, and you totally deserve your trip each winter.
We are still in Arizona....a place I'll not return to. I need my ocean. Need some beach sand, not desert sand.
Now, when does the counter go up for your trip next year?
Boo hoo.....didn't come and see me! Ah well, glad that you enjoyed my beautiful state once again. I love being able to live here every month of the year.
