Shorts Weather ... WOOT!

This is the view from my 3 season bedroom this morning :)  You can see the brush is mostly down, the tamaracks are starting to turn and I -- probably I should really say we as I do let the old guy sleep up here too as long as he holds down the snoring because I am friendly that way ;) -- WE are still in our summer bedroom! Skippy doo...  As I type the school kiddos are doing a quick clean up (case worker coming this afternoon) and I can hear Peter Gabriel singing downstairs (Love this song)

I am planning to head out to hang clothes, do Winston Grammar, geography and some Spanish review outside today.  Notice my beach chair down by my clothesline (top picture)?  In just about 10 minutes I will be sitting right there with a cup of coffee.  I will spread out that yellow blanket on the end of the line for the kids and we will enjoy school in the warm sun...
After our wonderful worker leaves I am thinking of getting started canning the beets (lots of them!)
Perhaps TOMORROW I can blog about Large Family Minimalist in the kitchen?

Wow that is soooo pretty. I am new to your blog.

Does your state allow home education for foster children?

We are in Texas, and they do not. The adoption has to be finalized first.

We got out of it because our daughter had a late birthday and we held her back from K because she wasn't ready.
By then, the adoption was finalized and we homeschooled.

Our state does not allow homeschooling of foster children either. Our 4 newbies are from Texas :) and three of the are in public school (we are still pre-adoptive placement until the 6 month mark) and one of them (whom I will blog about tomorrow maybe?) we just decided to keep home with us. He is 5, so still not legally needing to be schooled (age is 7 in MN). He is just not ready for kindergarten and really is so full of anger... he needs some security/family stability and bonding time. The others will likely stay in school as their needs are better addressed there. It also has given me some breathing room to spend time with the functional kids without a lot of drama/screaming/peeing/what have you fun behaviors!

LOL... Our daughter was from Oklahoma. The ICPC paperwork between Texas and OK took 10 months! I felt like I was in the middle of a Texas OU rival football game.....

I finally made business cards with our daughter's picture on them saying "I'm a person"..... and clipped it to all correspondence and then when I called, I'd say, you have her picture attached to her paper work! I'd hear, oh yea, here it is, it was on the bottom of my pile! :)

We were never so glad to complete an adoption. She was considered RAD when she came... but she is RAD no more. :)
We also adopted from an adoption disolution. Our daughter was from Ukraine, and then, our 3rd adoption was In Ukraine, getting her best friend. :)
We may adopt again.... as the Lord directs. Our hearts are open.
Right now, I'm busy with 3 girls all about the same age. 11-12.
