Forest History Center

The Forest History Center field trip was a great time on a beautiful day.  We will not see many of these again this fall.  Kat went with Thomas and Reuben and the older kids group, I went with Jackie and Molly who were pretty much the oldest of the younger kid group.

Lots of fun stuff and I got to tell a couple of little girls about how their dad, before they were born, logged a lot of the wood used in our house with horses like these.  How he used a cant hook like this one to move all his HUGE logs (none under 12" in diameter and most a lot bigger) around like tinker toys into the different piles according to where they would end up in this huge log home.  We used to tell people, "No, he can't come to the phone right now... he is out playing with his logs!"

I have not given up on getting a little kitchen work in today...  Some issues with a couple kids, including one leading to the little guy getting kicked off the bus, have had me a little preoccupied so far today.  However, I am still hoping to blog some progress toward my goals later tonight.
