ROAD TRIP, the Continuing Saga

On day three of our road trip, we hauled buns and arrived at our destination somewhat "strung out from the road" but cheered by the fact that we had indeed MADE IT!  Unfortunately, in my giddy excitement I neglected to pay attention to my gas gage and, after passing a cluster of gas stations, ran out of gas and coasted to a stop in a private community of people who do not know how to go around a stalled car.  Yes, I am embarrassed to admit that I ran out of gas (a first for me in all my 51 years) in a mini van, on a "PLEASE STAY OUT OF HERE" private road, with a gas station a mere 1.9 miles in either direction (which unhappily was the same distance to a restroom that anyone might let us use).
We are thankful to a very nice gentleman who brought us a can of gas and even would not let me pour it in the tank ("No job for a lady!" he said.)  He was so kind that we almost were able to forget what he also said: "This has been the coldest winter in the 42 years I have lived here... with no end in sight."

Despite the not so warm temps, we have gotten some good sun.  Today I am STILL wearing shorts and heading to the beach, though I will probably bring along my mittens! As you can see, I did brave the water one day, just to be able to say I did it :)  Notice I am alone in the surf...
