Alone For Over 24 Hours!

I DID get to meet Claudia yesterday, and I DID get a signed copy of her and Bart's book, Out of Many, One Family which I started reading right there at the conference :) I actually read her very rough draft several years ago, when the book was called 10 In 9. Since that time, Claudia and Bart have adopted two more boys, added more good stuff to the book and it is a great read. I plan on finishing it up today as I am the sort that will keep reading a book I like (if at all possible) until I hit the end :)

Incidentally, Claudia is a wonderful speaker and I enjoyed her every bit as much as I thought I would! She truly "gets it" as only one who has adopted children from the foster care system can. I am going home with plans to foster more love and attachment between my children (both birth and adopted) and me. They are so worth it, and Claudia is right: I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

This picture has nothing to do with my post, obviously. But just look at this year's corn crop. This is it. All of it. Good land... so much for "eating good in the neighborhood" this winter.
