We are coming up on the one year anniversary of our adopted children moving in with us. This is a hard time of year for them... Lots of unhappy events happened to them in the very few Novembers they have lived through. This sticker, given to me by Pete, pretty much says it all for most of us. The wailing and wailing over seemingly insignificant things has gone above and beyond. We have quoted Bruce Willis a thousand times recently: "Waaa, Waaaa.... call the waaaamublance." We non-adopted family members are reminding each other constantly, "It's not about the pencil.... It's not about your sock... It's not really about having to put the fork in the dishwasher...." And we are not really fed up (even though I am tempted to wear this sticker across my forehead), but we will sure be glad to move on from this again for a while. For now we will follow this piece of advice James Dobson gave (originally regarding kids in adolescence): "Get 'em through it."
