Books piled everywhere. We ordinarily don't start school until the second week of September, squeezing every last drop out of summer before we are forced into the school routine. But, since John's folks are coming to spend a week beginning next Sunday, we went ahead and got going. I have to say my heart is not in it this year. I would love to have an endless summer, busy myself with canning beets, let someone else do the teaching... I have never been as envious of those who send their kids off to school as I am this year.

Oh me too--after 11 years of homeschooling nine different kids, I am truly jealous of the moms who have a little peace and quiet about now. I am down to 6.5 homeschooled kiddos this year (2 are graduated and in college or down with that too and my 16.5 year old daughter goes 1/2 days to the local highschool.)
