It is VBS time and the wonderful people at church have not asked me to do one thing to help again this year. This is traditionally my time alone in my own home. For five days in a row, from 8:15 am until noonish, I am all alone. Unfortunately, Mary caused some problems for her teacher yesterday and now either needs someone with her to supervise her, or she has to stay home. We picked to keep her home... so much for alone time... guess I used up more than my quota with almost 48 hours alone last week. And why should the other kids ruin their good time for a little girl who keeps peeing up the pre-school room as well as trying to shove the other little kids down the stairs? (and she told me in a voice full of disbelief, "One of them shoved me back, Mom!") And so, this morning she is in her parking spot AGAIN, having sat in the hallway while the kids got ready, calling them names and sing-songing, "I'm going to pee-ee! I'm going to pee-ee!"
Despite it all, I do think she has come a long way since last December. We certainly do not get bit or scratched any more, she does not pick to wet her pants 30 times a day anymore... she is more selective with that now. I have only gotten the weird eye trick a couple of times recently. So, that's progress of a sort, eh? Then I remember that she ripped her swimming suit apart with her teeth a couple of days ago... hmm... maybe I just can't tell what is progress anymore, what with this bag over my head.
