Yesterday was Jaime's 9th birthday. She has come a long way in the past couple years... She is for the most part a very sweet Jaime. Though she still struggles with angry outbursts, she has many wonderful qualities... Jaime is a very loving little girl, does not really understand/notice when others (outside our household) are not being very nice to her, and is by far the most forgiving member of our family. I am very happy and thankful to be her mom.
One of her presents was, as usual, play dough. Jaime loves this stuff and plays with it until little by little it just disappears into the air (the carpet, the car, etc.) She had a dirt and worms cake I bought at the grocery store. I usually make the birthday cakes, but recently I barely have enough energy to put a cake in the cart. Katherine's birthday is on Friday and she, as is tradition, picked out the cake she wanted me to make: a beautiful round mound of lemon cheesecake with slices of cheesecake radiating out of the center... very nice. I informed her that though I probably had the ability to make that cake, this year her choice is limited to dinosaurs or SharkTales (which coincidentally is the same selection they have at the store).
