End Of The World...

Not going to post any sites that will direct you to "the scoop" ...no, you can google that if you want.  Honestly, if I had not seen a couple billboards on my way home from Kentucky with our "new to us" car a few weeks ago, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN!!  the world is coming to an end tomorrow.  When I saw the billboards I thought it was some kind of promotional deal for a new movie, or cell phone, or ???
As a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, I have a much different view on matters of eschatology.  If you are at all interested, you can look HERE for more info.
Suffice to say that tomorrow, I will still be trusting in the Lord Jesus' redeeming work on my behalf, His Death to pay for my sins, His resurrection and His promise to save me from sin, death and the power of the devil.   And believing is nothing I do for myself, but the Holy Spirit believes for me, my faith is a gift from God.
Bottom Line:  No one is going to be saved by believing that the Lord is returning tomorrow (or tonight or next year).
So with that in mind, tomorrow we are going ahead with our plans to have a "Pool Opening Party" where I will likely remind everyone (as I do continually at any rate) "Don't EVER forget where your Salvation lies!  There is NOTHING more important!"

Amen!

We're having our census up here which we do every five years. They always ask for religion so I got to say "Lutheran" for the first time. I was so proud of myself! I'm glad Jesus Christ saved me and I'm glad that through you I found the Lutheran church, it's so perfect for how I feel led to worship. Thank you for helping me to know Christ.

Every time I pray or sing a hymn or read the Bible, I think of you, because you helped me find God. And then my pastor said to me one day in Calgary, "your effervescent faith is contagious". I've never enjoyed a compliment so much! I've been able to share the word of God with some people and pass along the gift you gave me. I sure feel blessed!
