Skype... We Love You

Gosh do we miss our soldier.  Boy do we love Skype.  I feel so blessed to live in a time where I can hear my son's voice and see his face, even though he is on the other side of the world in a war zone.

It is a strange Christmas coming up here.  I do not know when I have felt less Christmas spirit than I do this year.  It seems like another event to get through... sigh...  Not sure I am going to feel like myself again until Joshua gets back on US soil.  Of course the kids are all excited at any rate, and I am putting on the Merry Christmas attitude for them.

Thankfully God's mercy does not depend on my ability to feel happy, thankful or festive.  God loves us enough that he came into this world as a man to save us... And, "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).  There is nothing more important than that.
They shall call his name EMMANUEL which means God Is With Us...

So thankful you can see and hear your son. My sister and her family live in Oman. Skype is blocked so we are unable to see them. We do use google chat but it has so many problems that we unsually resort to just typing back and forth. They are moving to Tokyo in April and we look forward to being able to see and talk to them with skype. Sheri

Linda, I know how you feel. Praise God he's now home safe and sound, but I remember the year my son was in Iraq at Christmas...there sure was a big void that year. But like you, I was so grateful for technology enabling me to at least hear his voice often by cell phone. I will surely keep you and your family in my prayers. And please tell your son for me how very much we appreciate his service to our country and the sacrifices he freely makes to ensure our freedom. Vicki
