This is the view off the deck on this chilly, but more than tolerable Spring morning. I came out on to the deck through this door:
John finally installed a door on the west side of the great room, in a spot that has been prepared for a door since we first put up the logs some 17 years ago. The thing you can't see in this picture is that the redwing blackbirds are back! Showed up last weekend and have been singing in the mornings, making even a chilly morning coffee on the deck a pleasant experience.
Rebecca and Reuben are on their way to pick up Kat. Kat is coming home for her last break before graduating from college! Unfortunately Becca's car is overheating and she had to head back home with it. This will make a very long day even longer. I suppose they will end up making it a two day trip. "Well, it just goes to show you. It's always something. If it isn't one thing, it's something else."

I apologize, but your loss has been our gain; we have enjoyed extra time with your kids here this evening. You've got great kids, Linda and John!
Like my grandmother, NanaRoseannaDana always said....!!!
