I have been operating with a new motto for a couple of months now. Whenever something (or someone) is giving me trouble that I cannot do anything about, I say to myself: I am not spending any more time on this. A kid going off the deep end, trying to make me fight with them or lose my temper? I am not spending any more time on that. I find myself stressing and/or obsessing about something that is out of my power to change or control? I am not spending any more time there.
I saw this cartoon a long time ago on a friend's blog and when I saw it again today I knew I had to commit it to paper blog. It is not quite the same as my motto, but perhaps it is even a little better :)

LOL I'm glad you like it. I found it when I was in therapy and I brought it to my therapist and said "look, I found you a Cognitive Therapy cartoon!" And she was like "that's not cognitive therapy, that's just repressing." I'm still not sure I see a difference. :)
Great cartoon... think I'll make it my motto too!
