A couple years back I posted about being "A mom of 14" with no additions EVER being added... (you know where this is going, don't you?!) And even though we were firm in that at the time, the feeling that we should get our homestudy updated just wouldn't leave us alone. About 20 months ago we DID update our study and since that time have been selected for several sibling groups but each time the issues and challenges just seemed too much to mix in with our family.
Well, in the beginning of November 2009, we were matched with a sibling group of six children. We have spent the last three months or so learning more, praying, mulling over the possibilities and the challenges, praying some more, asking others to pray and, after all that praying and thinking we felt God was opening doors and we said "YES!"
So, in the very near future (no exact date yet) we will welcome 6 little children from So. Texas to The Cold Spot! I will post pictures and more info when I have permission to do so (privacy issues, you know), but in the meantime some bare minimum info: Little boy 10, little girl 9, little girl 7, little girl 6, and twins (boy and girl) age 5!
We are now in the "thinking, planning, revamping" stages of preparation. I feel a HUGE need to simplify even more, getting rid of anything that is not useful, beautiful, or meaningful. Organization will really need to be my mantra now, in order to keep on top of all that will need to be done in our soon to be Mega size family. The laundry area is first on the list for a makeover, and hopefully our two washing machines will be up to the task until we can afford one of those low water, low e, max capacity, front loading machines!!
I AM A MOM OF 20! Wow!

Somehow in the back of my mind I felt you were up to something! Congratulations new mom and dad! I am looking forward to hearing details and seeing pictures of your new additions! Hope they come home soon!
(South Texas is in the 30's and 40's really often this winter, so maybe God is preparing them for The Cold Spot!?)

Congratulations! Will be praying for you in this new adventure!
Wow, your heart is as big as your family. Of course, in the Cindy and Claudia world, you're just an average family, nothing to get too excited about, but in the eyes of TLC you are TV worthy! God bless your hubby and you , and God bless all of your lucky children to be so wanted. Thinking of you.

Congratulations! What a lucky sibling group to be able to stay together and go to such a loving home.
Congratulations!! I look forward to hearing more about your newly expanded family! =)
Congratulations and God bless you as you open your home and heart to your new additions.
I am at the "mama of 12" spot and at this time don't see how we could possibly add more, but I know that the Lord may change our hearts as we work through the issues with our youngest RAD daughter.
Last year I was the "mama of 13" ... so going to "mama of 12" through a disruption was one of the most unimaginably difficult things we never dreamed we would face. So ... as we are about to pull through that crisis ... we are running on empty this spring. But, I know that the Lord will refresh and renew.
Praying that these children are a perfect fit for your family. Wow!

Congratulations! I have to ask though....we have 3 bio kids (grown), 6 adopted kids. Every time I ask about adopting more, we are told 6 is the limit in the home to adopt. What am I missing? Asking? Doing? to get more kids. We'd like about 20 at home too. What is your secret? If you don't mind sharing that is :) I'd be totally excited to hear how we can mega-size our family. Thank you in advance for your time.
