I traditionally take everything as slowly as possible during the Advent season. Advent is my favorite time of year. I love the hymns of anticipation (Oh Come, oh come Emmanuel, The King Shall Come, Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates). I love the Wednesday evening Advent services, decorating, etc.
This year not so much. I took on too much. I did not intend to, but somehow I went from helping put together a few costumes for our church's Night In Bethlehem Event, to sewing ALL the costumes... more than 30... and I don't really sew as I am not that good at it... sigh... If that were not enough (and it is truly
more than plenty) a very generous person donated 100's of these very cool houses to our youth group. They came from an estate, they are all in mint or never even opened condition. The youth are selling them to make money for their youth gathering trip/servant event next summer in New Orleans. Since mine are the only youth going, these beautiful houses (some Department 56 and several other brands of collector village pieces) and such are hanging out in my livingroom waiting for me to list them on ebay (does this sound like an ad? it is). I put some on Monday, the old guy put some on Tuesday, but now I have had to get back to the sewing project which is starting to interfere with my sleep. Even when I finally hit the sack I sleep fitfully, turning this sewing
