The weather has been so absolutely balmy for November that we have had several fires in the pit this week (and probably another for tonight). It is unbelievable that Thanksgiving is less than a week away, yet in a few minutes I will be heading out to the deck to sit in the sun (50 degress, skippy doo) and read more of this great book:
I LOVE this guy's (Joel Salatin) attitude and writing and of course the subject matter speaks to me for sure. I have another of his books requested at the library and yet another on my waiting list at Paperbackswap. Think is it too late for me to become a real farmer? Me either ;-)

Salatin is the guy who was featured in Mother Earth News, right? The one who claimed that everything he liked to do was illegal? Fresh milk, etc. Funny guy. I'd love to read his books.
So you will farm in southern Florida when you are retired and working in a library?
We could use a librarian here. They got rid of ALL the non-fiction here in the Whoville library. Sigh. That wasn't a joke.
Haha :) Well, perhaps I should make farming my Plan B? Or maybe I should farm now to keep myself sane like Big Mama :)
About your library... what's up with that? Who in the world makes that kind of decision for a library?? I wonder if I could get hired as a librarian in Whoville? Plan C maybe?
Hasn't our November weather been fantastic! We are sure enjoying it after the October we had.
I should get a countdown clock up on my blog. We must be leaving about the same time....we're going to Texas, Corpus Christi and Padre Island.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Oh I have thought several times to go to Corpus Christi for a getaway! Let me know how you like it!
