Annual Wreath Making

For almost a week the weather has been so balmy we have had the doors open all day long. Several of us slept out in the screen porch every night. I wore shorts for our annual wreath making on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was also terrific to sit outside in short sleeves at the firepit at the end of November.

By Sunday, cold weather had returned (as you can see by the faux fur I have on while I decorate the big wreath for the east peak of the house). This year's big wreath got way too big and John had to go up on the top of the house to try to haul it up while Josh tried to shove it up the ladder from below... didn't work. Finally, using the Suburban and the come-along they got it up there.

We started cleaning up the mess, only to hear that the youth at our church are 20 wreaths short for their fundraiser... So my house will look like this picture for a couple more days... yuck.
