The grandparents headed home yesterday. We had a good visit except that Bette fell down three different times as she had trouble managing the steps. She didn't get hurt, though, and we played many, many card games. I never did get a picture of May I... I was probably dozing during the game and forgot.
The weather has been warm enough that we kept the pool heater running...yikes... But so fun. It gets dark pretty early now, so we were all in the pool at 9pm, pitch dark, watching the stars as there is no moon until very early morning. The stars are more than awesome, reminding me again what a fantastic blessing it is to live in the country. While we are all looking up, seeing bats zip by, the steam rises off the pool and it is just more than pleasant. Tonight is the absolute last as tomorrow we are going to close the pool. This should keep me from heating it up again on a whim.
So here we are once again, the last day of summer. We could not possibly celebrate that without the Palmers who should be arriving shortly after supper tonight. We are kicking the heat up to 95 which should closely resemble a 30,000 gallon spa :)
