Our oldest 'at home' kids, Kat, Pete, Josh and Becca, are off to the BWCA for four days. I have every confidence that they will do just fine and have a lot of fun, too. Still last night I tossed and turned thinking of all the possible disasters that could befall them. I stressed for the umpteenth time this morning that they better not even think about taking off those
life jackets while they are out on the lake... But even more importantly, I reminded them yet again where their salvation lies. When all is said and done, that is really the bottom line, the most important thing in our existence. I am soooo thankful that these four kids know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves them and provided a way for them to live forever through the sacrifice of His Son for their sins. There is nothing in life so important as this fact. The challenge now is to live a life that shows we believe what God tells us is true. Thankfully God has not abandoned us to our sinful nature in this area, and thence comes my other admonishment for my travelers (and all my kids): Read Your Bible and Pray Every Day. You will not be able to survive the storms... indeed even the daily living... of your life, with your faith intact, if you don't do this...
