Jaime and Doctors

The summer is winding down, which means Jaime's Dr. appointments start picking up.
Today we went to see Jaime's Orthopedist, Dr. Trombino, a favorite that we have been seeing since Jaime was 2 years old. She is wonderful. We found out that Jaime's right leg has grown a centimeter or so longer than her left. That will need monitoring for a possible shoe lift. Unfortunately, Jaime's left side is her weak side and she would most likely not be able to lift her foot enough to clear the floor with a lift in her shoe... we will wait and see on that I guess. Also, Jaime's cord/muscle tightness has increased quite a bit, meaning that we will give her PT stretching exercises 3 more months to do some good. After that she will have Botox (injected under anesthesia) and 6 weeks of intensive PT.

Tomorrow we have the beginning appointment for her new orthotics as well as her psych appointment. Jaime is now on Abilify for her ODD, frontal lobe syndrome, impulsive behaviors. It is not working too well so far, so hopefully her new Dr. will have a plan B.

Melissa had an orthodontist appt today. It seems that though we are not even halfway done paying for Pete and Becca's braces, we will now need to add Melissa to the bill. She will need several procedures over the next several years to correct her jaw and make room in her mouth for all her teeth.

This has been a totally boring post, I know. But my life is chock full of boring but necessary stuff. Might as well blog a couple of them.
