My Brother

I was so thankful to have the Palmers over yesterday, and we even got to keep them overnight. :) To say I needed the break of just enjoying friends doesn't really cover how desperately I needed a distraction.... which makes me think of my brother :)

Whenever my brother comes up for a visit, or we get together anywhere, I know there are going to be many great opportunities to laugh. Not just laugh, but really LAUGH... loud and long! Laugh 'til we have tears in our eyes! Laugh and laugh over dorky stuff, irreverent stuff, all kinds of stuff. And we did manage to get in a few laughs over Christmas, too! Here Tom is reading aloud from a funny Bathroom Reader last weekend.

We used to play goofy board games a lot when Tom and Sharlene came up, which we haven't done for a while now. But my gosh, my brother is just hysterical when it comes to games like Balderdash and Brainsweat. I remember once, when Kelly and Lucas were younger (still living at home) when John actually seized up he was laughing so hard! I cannot to this day remember the question, but Tom's answer was "The Big Kahuna" and oh man... we laughed so hard that our stomachs hurt and John "seized up"... He literally laughed so hard he could not breathe, his eyes glazed over and he almost passed out. We still bring it up when we are laughing these days, "Look out, John is going to seize!"
